£9 million move not without problems
25th July 2007

By Staff Writer

Former Spurs defender Stephen Kelly has warned Birmingham boss Steve Bruce that he will have his hands full in dealing with £9 million signings Mido and Hossam Ghaly.

Kelly, a former team mate of the pair at Spurs told the Daily Mirror:

"He's a very interesting character, If there's something on Mido's mind, then he won't hold it in, he will voice his opinion. He's not the type who will be kept down or kept quiet.

"He wouldn't be the same otherwise. When you see players who change their character, they don't perform. Mido is the same on and off the pitch."

Both players are expected to complete their moves to City in the next 48 hours for a combined fee of £9 million (£6 million: Mido, £3 million: Ghaly).

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce believes the pair can help keep Birmingham in the Premiership:

"I'm delighted because in the past in the Premier League scoring goals and that creative side of it has been a problem for us,

"But with Mido coming in it's strengthened us and Ghaly's going to add to that as well - I've now got a lot of options.

"We look as if we have a bit of pace, power and quality. In the league we are in, you need that in abundance."
