Anthony Gardner could be on his way to Manchester City according to reports over the weekend.

Gardner has struggled to break into the Spurs side this season with Callum Davenport being preferred as the first choice cover for Ledley King and Michael Dawson.

City are thought to be preparing a January bid for the tall centre-half which is estimated to be around the £2 million mark.

Speculation in yesterday's papers linked Spurs with a move for former Arsenal centre-half Matthew Upson which could provide further evidence to Gardner that his time at the club is over.
