Tottenham alerted to availability of £7 million striker
26th March 2007

By Staff Writer

Spurs will re ignite their interest in former target Dean Ashton if West Ham are relegated at the end of the season.

West Ham pipped Tottenham to the signature of Ashton when he signed from Norwich for the Hammers but according to the Sunday People Ashton has told friends he will quit the club if they are relegated this summer.

Ashton made an impressive start to his West Ham career before picking up the ankle injury that has seen him miss all of this season.

Spurs are in need of a target man to replace Mido who is set to leave the club for Manchester City and look unlikely to be put off by West Ham's £7 million valuation of Ashton.
