Gerrard: It's My Job
23rd April 2008

By Staff Writer

Steven Gerrard is in no doubt as to his responsibility as Liverpool captain following the Champions League Semi Final draw at Anfield last night, saying after the game "It's my job as captain to pick the boys up and make sure we're ready for next week".

Liverpool did indeed have the better of the chances and Chelsea has Peter Cech to thank that the scoreline wasn't heavier when, at the end of normal time, Liverpool were leading just 1-0 through Kuyt's first half goal. The dutchman has now scored in every round of the Champions League so far.

Disaster struck in added time when Riise headed into his own net to gift Chelsea the draw.

Chelsea will surely fancy themselves at Stamford Bridge considering their formidable home record, but who is betting against a Liverpool v Manchester United final?
