Liverpool have had their hopes of signing Chelsea full back Wayne Bridge dealt a killing blow.

Liverpool were weighing up a January move for Bridge but have been told they have no chance of acquiring his services by Blues boss Avram Grant.

Grant told the Sunday press:

"All the players in the squad will stay until the end of the season"
