Arsenal completed a famous double last night becoming the first team from England to beat AC Milan in the San Siro, having previously thumped Inter there 1-5 in the same competition.
As in the first leg, that ended goalless, Arsenal produced a great footballing display without managing a goal. Here though Fabregas' speculative shot from fully 30 yards out completely wrong footed Zelijo Kalac in the Milan goal to make it a desrved 0-1.
At 0-1 the home team needed to score twice to stay in the tie through the away goals rule but any chances of that were killed off when Walcott flew down the right wing and cooly passed the ball to Adebayor at the back post to slot in the second in injury time.
Arsene Wenger can feel justified in the purchase and selection of Walcott, with the youngster now showing what he can do on an almost bi-annual basis.
Arsenal must now feel that the EPL and CL double is their's to lose.
