Arsenal have resigned 19 year old goalkeeper Vito Mannone in a deal that brings some clarity to the future position of Jens Lehmann at the club.

Reports in the Sunday Mirror claim that Mannone has been given reassurances by the club that he will not be pushed further down the pecking order at the Emirates by an incoming player set to replace Budesliga bound Lehmann.

Speculation had existed that Wenger was looking for a replacement for Lehmann but the resigning on Mannone would suggest the French man is happy with his current options in the goal keeping department.
